Scania Malaysia Staff Welcome Family Faces For Scania Family Day

July 14 , 2018 - Staff at Scania Malaysia are used to welcoming fleet owners and drivers while at work in their centres but the smiles were a little wider than usual recently because they were also welcoming their families.

Held at all the branches throughout Malaysia over July and August, the Scania Family Day starting at Bukit Jelutong branch and now in Johor Bahru. These events provide an opportunity for staff and their immediate family members to mingle around, see what goes on to keep the trucks and buses profitable for their owners, have some food and learn the roles of their other half working in Scania.

Also on site for them to see and understand were information counters for Scania Genuine Parts and Scania Fleet Management System, a Scania Truck Simulator game console and a Scania autonomous platooning table that depicts the future of the industry which Scania is developing.

“Scania’s continuing success is based on our employees and our core values. We focus on the individual and our future success depends on the achievements from our employees,” said Managing Director of Scania Southeast Asia, Marie Sjödin Enström.

“We treat each other the way we want to be treated. We listen and understand. From drivers of vehicles to all our employees and society at large, the individual stands at the centre in all that we do. We seek to capture the knowledge, experience and ambition of each individual to continuously improve what we do, and how we do it”, added Marie.

The purpose of the Scania Family Day is to give visiting family members an idea about what it’s like to work at Scania and the full picture of what Scania can offer as an employer. Families will learn more about Scania’s strategic focus which is on customer profitability by being in the forefront of sustainable transport solutions.

“At Scania we have developed a strategy for capturing the different skills and perspectives of our employees. We call it “Skill Capture” and it is used to establish ways of working to allow our employees to perform at their full potential in an environment where all feel appreciated and respected.”
