KELANTAN BUS OPERATORS TO ACQUIRE SCANIA COACHES FOR THEIR FLEET EXPANSIONS

18 August 2018, Saturday – Two major express bus operators in Kota Bharu – Konsortium E-Mutiara Berhad & Tiara Pesona Sdn Bhd – have signed purchase agreements with Scania Malaysia to facilitate the expansion of their respective fleets with Scania coaches.

The signing ceremony was held at the Scania Malaysia Kota Bharu service facility with Konsortium E-Mutiara’s Managing Director Haji Che Ibrahim B. Che Ismail and Tiara Pesona’s Chief Executive Officer Wan Mohd Nur Faiz Hilmi B. Wan Hamat together with Scania Southeast Asia Services Director Thor Brenden.

Both customers cited Scania coaches – which are also popular among drivers for their driving comfort – as offering the best in terms of safety, reliability, fuel economy and most importantly, passenger comfort.

The benefits offered are all crucial parameters for tour operations, as well the best total operating economy of any coach and both companies also noted that maintaining good uptime is also easy with the efficient after sales services that Scania provides.

Both companies have chosen the Scania K410EB6x2 coach with Konsortium E-Mutiara acquiring 20 units and Tiara Pesona acquiring 28 units.

The coach features a powerful engine with higher torque at lower revs and are equipped with the Scania Opticruise gear-change technology that provides better comfort while reducing clutch and synchromesh wear.

The coaches come with two years of free Scania Maintenance and free 24/7 Scania Assistance as well as a ten-year free Fleet Management System (FMS) basic package.

The acquisitions will be made with a combination of cash and financing by Scania Credit Malaysia, which is offering attractive and comprehensive financial-solution packages for the customers.

Konsortium E-Mutiara is also subscribing to the Scania FMS total solutions package that includes Scania Repair and Maintenance for service matters as well as Scania Driver Training and Coaching services that will help increase the productivity by achieving better fuel economy and reduced cost of operations.

In addition, the event saw the handover of two Scania G410LA6x2HSZ trucks to Strong Horse Transport Sdn Bhd, which was received by its company director Mr. Oh Han Khim. With the purchase facilitated by Scania Credit Malaysia, the acquired G-series trucks offer powerful performance and increased fuel savings.

“We are proud to be partners with Konsortium E-Mutiara, Tiara Pesona and Strong Horse Transport for its long-haul operations and are indeed very happy that they have once again placed their trust in Scania for the best profitability and sustainability of their business,” said Brenden.

The signing ceremony was held in conjunction with the Scania Open Day, which served as an opportunity for staff and their immediate family members to see what it’s like to work at Scania and what Scania can offer as an employer.
