Low- and zero emission powertrains
With the widest range of powertrain options on the market, we are able to provide buses and coaches that meet the needs of operators regardless of the conditions or type of operation.
Fully compatible with our combustion powertrains, renewable fuels such as biogas (LBG/CBG), hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO), and biodiesel (FAME) enable CO2 savings of up to 90%. This drastically reduces emissions, not least in high-mileage operations.
Our plug-in hybrids take those savings to yet another level, and where the prerequisites are there to move to fully electric operations, we have high-performing battery electric buses and coaches with the capacity required.

Our new powertrain platform takes people transport to the next level. Based on the award-winning Super powertrain for Scania trucks, it offers the perfect balance between efficiency and performance — making transport operations more profitable and more sustainable.
The Scania Super delivers up to 10% fuel savings in combustion configuration alone, with the plug-in hybrid variant, that also offers up to 80 km in electric mode, enables savings of up to 47%.
