Manfred Streit
Managing Director
Manfred joined Scania Australia after 15 years working for the company in Austria, initially as a Dealer Director and latterly as the Country Manager. Prior to that he worked for Renault and Alcatel.
“Scania in Australia has a very solid base – thanks to 12 years of growth – and has a very experienced executive management team. We will work together to develop further innovations and services for the benefit of our customers,” he says.
Benjamin Nye
Director of Truck Sales
Benjamin Nye joined Scania in 2010 as a Retail Account Manager with substantial truck industry experience.
His successes earned him a Scania’s Truck Salesman of the Year award. After a spell as National Fleet Manager for fire and specialist vehicles, he became Product Manager for Scania trucks, before taking over the role of Sales Director, Trucks.
Ben is passionate about trucks, cars and engines, and his product knowledge is matched only by his enthusiasm for all things Scania.
Julian Gurney
Director of Sales Bus & Power Solutions
Julian has been instrumental in growing the Bus and Engine division. His most recent appointment with Scania was in 2012 where he commenced as the National Manager, Retail Bus Sales. In 2018 Julian was appointed as the Director of Bus and Power Solutions.
Julian is passionate about overseeing Scania Australia’s transition to Zero Emission Public Transport and the reduction of the CO2 footprint for the benefit of future generations.
Stefan Weber
Director of Aftersales
Stefan Weber, Director of After Sales, joined Scania Australia after nine years working for Scania Germany, building up valuable retail experience as Dealer Director in the Western region, overseeing 11 branches and delivering more than 1100 trucks annually.
Stefan aims to ensure Scania keeps its promise of maximum uptime through the stewardship of a smooth running network of company-owned and independent authorised dealerships to service and repair Scania trucks and buses across Australia.
William Fisher
Director Presales & Logistics
William joined Scania as the National Service Sales and Operations Manager, based in Campbellfield in 2021 having held senior roles with several of the biggest fleet businesses in Australia.
In 2023 he moved into the role of Director of Presales and Logistics, responsible for guiding new vehicle orders from contract to delivery. The role is dedicated to ensuring customer vehicles arrive correctly specified, complete with local parts fitment, and suitably compliant with local regulations, and their intended application.
Heath Walker
Director of Marketing & Communications
Heath Walker joined Scania Australia with a rich background in automotive, as well as sports and IT marketing.
“Scania has a strong and enviable reputation as a brand that leverages innovation in technology and safety, as well as environmental leadership. The communication landscape is evolving with new means of reaching customers and prospects, and so we must adapt to ensure our stories can be told in channels and in formats that are relevant to our audience,” he says.
Hanna Johansson
Director of Business Transformation
Hanna commenced her career at Scania in Sweden as a vehicle ergonomist, and became the manager of the modularisation division of Research and Development.
Before joining Scania Australia as Business Support Director in 2019, Hanna worked with Scania India in a similar role. She has been Director of Business Transformation since 2022.
Sumith Vellaikal
Chief Financial Officer
Sumith Vellaikal joined Scania Australia in 2013 from Scania in South Africa via Scania Sweden, where he had worked in Business Control. He joined Scania Australia as the Business Control Manager in 2013 and was confirmed as Scania Australia’s Chief Financial Officer in 2021.
Sumith’s motto is to work smarter, not harder.
Wayne Thomason
Country Manager at Scania Finance
Wayne joined Scania in 2019 as National Sales Manager for Scania Finance, in 2020 was appointed Country Manager of Scania Finance Australia and New Zealand. Wayne joined Scania with more than 40 years’ experience within the Banking and Finance industry.
Wayne is passionate about being a leader in Transport Finance, delivering for customers and developing solutions in emerging sectors like Battery Electric Vehicles and Electrification.
Sean Corby
Dealer Director
VIC, TAS
Sean joined Scania Australia in 2012, originally from the UK he has worked for Scania Sweden and South Africa. In Australia, he commenced as the National Services and Sales Manager, and as the National Aftersales Manager and in 2019 was appointed Regional Executive Manager
Sean is passionate about empowering teams so they can deliver excellent levels of customer service and in turn generate good results for Scania.
Michael Berti
Dealer Director
WA, SA, NT
Michael commenced with Scania Australia in 2015 as Regional Executive Manager – Western Australia following a successful career in the automotive aftermarket. During 2021 South Australia /Northern Territory and Queensland were added to his responsibilities.
Michael’s passion is supporting the development of our team and securing new talent – then letting them get on and get things done.
Brian Morrison
Dealer Director
QLD
Brian Morrison has been with Scania Australia since arriving from the UK in 2005 to work as a technician at Laverton. He moved to the new Dandenong branch as Workshop Coordinator in 2009, and then the 2011 Scania Employee of the Year added managing Laverton Branch to his Dandenong responsibilities in 2014, with stints in Brisbane and Sydney in 2016/7. In 2019, Brian moved to a National Fleet Service Manager’s role for bus and specialist vehicles, before becoming Victoria and Tasmania Business Development Manager in March 2022. He accepted the QLD Dealer Director role in early 2023.
Lionel Saunders
Dealer Director
NSW
Lionel joined Scania in late 2018 as Branch Manager at Prestons from a fleet leasing and rental background, having started out as a technician. He was promoted to State Manager responsible for aftersales, and then appointed Dealer Director adding sales to his portfolio. He says his greatest satisfaction has come from watching the cohesive and loyal team live Scania values daily, and seeing the business grow across two captive and 13 non captive outlets in the state.

Chris Nobbs
Chris Nobbs, with nearly 30 years at Scania, is now Manager of the new Eastern Creek branch in Sydney, serving the city’s growing truck and bus customer base -
Trevor O'Brien
Trevor O’Brien, with 35 years at Scania, has held key roles including National Manager for Bus Sales. He now serves as General Manager Vehicle Sales Support.
