Scania Driver Training is a practical on-road training programme designed to help drivers, vehicle owners and businesses improve safety, fuel efficiency, vehicle handling and long-term operating performance. The programme focuses on real-world driving conditions and day-to-day vehicle use, helping drivers apply best practices that reduce wear, minimise downtime and support consistent vehicle performance.
Who the Driver Training Programme is for
The programme is suitable for:
• Professional truck drivers operating heavy vehicles
• Businesses running single vehicles or fleets
• Drivers seeking to improve fuel efficiency and safety
• Operators aiming to reduce operating costs through better driving behaviour
Drivers enrolling in the programme must hold a valid CE driving licence (Heavy Truck with Trailer).
What the Training Covers
The Scania Driver Training Programme combines classroom guidance with practical, on-road instruction. Key areas covered include:
- Drivers learn how daily inspections and correct preparation contribute to safety, reliability, and reduced operating costs
- An overview of vehicle systems and driver interfaces, helping drivers understand how to use vehicle features correctly and efficiently
- Introduction to driver performance monitoring and defensive driving techniques to support safer driving behaviour in real traffic conditions
- Live, on-road driving sessions where instructors demonstrate correct driving techniques and explain decision-making in real time
- Hands-on coaching focused on applying vehicle systems and features to improve fuel efficiency, handling and consistency
- Drivers receive personalised feedback based on their driving behaviour, with clear guidance on how to improve performance after training
- Drivers receive a certificate upon completion of the programme. The certificate does not expire.

- Duration: 3-day training programme
- Location:
-At Scania’s Nairobi workshop using the participant’s own truck
-Or off-site using the participant’s truck
- Training approach: Combination of theory, practical instruction and real-world driving
Driver Training Prices (VAT Inclusive)
The programme offers flexible pricing depending on the training setup:
- KES 21,692 per person
Training conducted at the Scania Nairobi workshop using the participant’s own truck.
- KES 30,000 per person
Training conducted at the Nairobi workshop without the participant’s truck, or off-site using the participant’s own truck.
Payment can be made in up to three instalments.
