TECHNICIAN CHECKLIST
Technician Checklist
As the technician, your technical expertise is essential to an accurate and timely warranty process. Please support the Warranty Administrator by ensuring all required information is clearly documented for each repair. The checklist below is provided as a tool to help capture the necessary details and reflect the quality of your work.
MUST HAVES
- Confirm engine number matches the work order.
- Confirm engine hours match the work order.
- If SDP3 is used to troubleshoot, operational data must be uploaded to Operational Analysis.
- Save a snapshot with SDP3.
- Tag any parts that are replaced, to be stored for minimum of 90 days.
VISUAL FAILURES
- All repairs where the failure is visual, should be supported by photos clearly showing the failure causing the damage and any consequential damages.
- It must be unedited photos referenced to the engine being repaired by showing the engine number. For failures which can’t be captured by a photo, e.g. audible faults or excessive plays, a video should be recorded.
oIL LEAKS
- All repairs that include an oil leak, a picture of the leak must be taken before the repair and attached to the warranty claim. The picture must be unedited and reference the engine number.
wRITING A REPAIR REPORT
- Diagnosis to confirm customer complaint, Scania fault codes, all testing results, etc.
- Defect found.
- The cause of the defect.
- Repair action carried out.
tRAVELING FOR A REPAIR
The following information must be recorded:
- Travel locations (start and end locations).
- Callout start time.
- Total travel distance.
aDDITIONAL NOTES
- Save test results from SDP3 so they can be attached to claim.
- Fault codes from SDP3 must be recorded in the repair report.
