THE ONE TOURS & TRAVEL IS THE FIRST IN SINGAPORE TO OPERATE A SCANIA SMART & SAFE COACH WITH NEXT GENERATION CONNECTIVITY AND SAFETY
Scania Singapore officially handed over the first Scania Smart & Safe coach to The One Tours & Travel, featuring next-generation connected driving experience and the latest in safety technology to empower both drivers and fleet managers. Lim Yune Fay, Director of The One Tours & Travel Pte Ltd, received the key to the new coach from Oscar Wyckman, Country Manager of Scania Singapore, at Scania Singapore’s Senoko workshop.
“The One Tours & Travel remains committed to providing comfort and ease to our passengers through our well‑maintained fleet and reliable service standards. The digital dashboard and advanced safety features enable our drivers to operate with greater confidence, while allowing us to offer passengers an even more comfortable and secure travel experience,” said Lim Yune Fay.
The new Scania Smart & Safe coach features a digital Smart & Safe dashboard that allows drivers to individualise their driver station for improved comfort and usability. This is supported by a built‑in faster 4G and 5G‑ready telematics unit and an integrated sensor platform, which together collect comprehensive vehicle data to offer better insights into operational performance, helping The One Tours & Travel to optimise uptime, boost profitability, and support a data-driven approach to fleet management. Designed to meet the latest safety and cybersecurity regulations, the system strengthens reliability while ensuring compliance with modern digital requirements.
The coach also integrates enhanced safety as part of the Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). This includes Advanced Emergency Braking (AEB), which strengthens safety by automatically applying the brakes if the system detects a potential collision and the driver does not react in time. Electronic Stability Programme (ESP) helps maintain vehicle stability during sharp turns or slippery conditions by detecting potential skidding and applying corrective braking. Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) supports drivers on long journeys by automatically adjusting the coach’s speed to maintain a safe distance from the vehicle ahead, reducing fatigue during long-distance travel. Lane Departure Warning (LDW) enhances attentiveness by alerting the driver when the vehicle unintentionally drifts out of its lane boundaries, prompting them to steer the vehicle back into its lane. Together, these systems work collectively to create a safer driving environment for passengers, drivers, and other road users.
“Scania’s suite of Digital Services plays a vital role in helping customers enhance their business sustainability and profitability. Scania’s Fleet Management System Monitoring Package provides The One Tours & Travel with a quick and easy overview of their fleet performance via the My Scania portal which includes information like fuel consumption, vehicle usage, and carbon emissions. These information allow The One Tours & Travel to identify opportunities for vehicle usage improvements, all at their fingertips,” stated Oscar.
The One Tours & Travel’s fleet expansion is supported by Scania Financial Services, which provides flexible financing support that allows them to move forward confidently and focus on enhancing services and growing their business.
Established in April 2022, The One Tours & Travel has quickly expanded its presence in the cross‑border travel sector. In collaboration with prominent operator Five Stars Malaysia, the company offers multiple express services between Singapore and various destinations across Malaysia.
