SCANIA DEPLOYS 509 SOLAR PANELS, BATTERY-ELECTRIC ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE VAN, AND CHARGING STATIONS IN LINE WITH SGP2030
SINGAPORE – Another notable milestone was achieved by Scania in becoming a leader in sustainable transport systems by deploying 509 solar panels at Scania Singapore’s Senoko sales and service centre. This also includes deploying a Battery-Electric Van for roadside assistance and charging stations for heavy commercial vehicles.
The deployment of new solar panels at Scania Singapore’s Senoko sales and service centre will power the whole building with greener energy. Customer vehicles sent for repair and maintenance and other services at Senoko workshop will be serviced using renewable electricity sources, showcasing our commitment to extending eco-friendly practices throughout our service offerings.
Scania also deployed a Battery-Electric Van for our roadside assistance operations. With a battery size of 75kWh providing a range of up to 330 kilometres on a single charge, the van is capable to operate for the whole day, providing sustained support for Scania's customers throughout Singapore.
In addition to these initiatives, Scania has deployed three Battery-Electric Vehicle (BEV) charging stations, powered by green electricity sources from the solar panels, that are compatible with all Scania Battery-Electric Vehicles in Singapore. The charging stations can support up to 180kW charging rate to futureproof demand for current and future BEVs. With the deployment of these charging stations, Scania will be able to provide maintenance for customers’ battery-electric trucks from Scania at our workshop, to reduce greenhouse gases and minimise our environmental impact.
“Scania’s initiatives align with Singapore Green Plan 2030, demonstrating a commitment to collective action for sustainability and environmental progress in the face of climate change. These initiatives also align with our Science-Based Targets (SBT) for a cleaner and more sustainable future." said Oscar Wyckman, Country Manager of Scania Singapore.
