Oscar Wyckman Is Appointed Country Manager of Scania Singapore

SINGAPORE – Scania Singapore today announced the appointment of Oscar Wyckman as its Country Manager with effect from 1 August 2023.

As Country Manager, Oscar is responsible for leading the local team to deliver Scania’s premium-branded products and services aimed at helping the logistics, transportation, construction and public service sectors achieve profitability and sustainability. These include trucks and buses for heavy transport applications combined with repair and maintenance, roadside assistance, parts, driver training and coaching, and data-driven services.

Oscar first joined the company in 2015 under the coveted Scania Graduate Trainee Programme. Since then, he has garnered experience in corporate strategy and various commercial areas. He has worked closely with global teams from Latin America, Africa, Asia and Europe in running new business and market establishment projects as well as developing existing business.

“Oscar Wyckman joins Singapore with the broad-based experience and knowledge to drive the business at a time when climate action and sustainable land transport are at the forefront of the national agenda,” says Heba Eltarifi, Managing Director of Scania Southeast Asia. “He will steer our Singapore operations towards more sustainable outcomes that are better for business, society and the environment.”

Enthusiastic about his new appointment, Oscar looks forward to working closely with the local team to hold the Scania business to the highest operational standards while providing swift, qualitative and reliable support to the customers in Singapore.

“As Scania Singapore celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, I am joining a team that has already made significant inroads into the market over two decades,” Oscar says. “This includes the big leap to put our first Scania battery-electric vehicles on the roads earlier in 2023.”

He adds: “Electrification will be a business focus area in the future as we continue this momentum to position Scania as a leader in sustainable transport solutions.”

Oscar holds a BSc in Business Administration and Economics and an MSc in Mechanical Engineering from the Linköping Institute of Technology in Sweden.
