SCANIA TOP TEAM 2022-2023 CHALLENGES SERVICE TEAMS IN SINGAPORE ON KNOWLEDGE, TEAMWORK AND DISCIPLINE

SINGAPORE – Scania Singapore concluded the national finals of the Scania Top Team 2022-2023 over the weekend, crowning five service professionals who will represent Singapore at the regional level of the competition.

“The purpose of Scania Top Team is to increase knowledge about Scania’s products and services, as well as to strengthen collaboration between all roles involved in providing services to our customers,” said Ms Heba El Tarifi, Managing Director of Scania Southeast Asia, while kicking off the national finals in Singapore.

“The competition exercises require a level of technical knowledge, team spirit and discipline,” she added. “The format of the competition will follow daily work patterns with the most essential objective being to satisfy the needs of our customers.”

Scania Top Team recognises the important role that service personnel play in upholding Scania’s brand image and reputation in the heavy commercial vehicle market. It brings together 1,500 internal teams from Scania’s locations in 70 countries to compete at national, regional and global levels. Each team comprises between three to five members who are service technicians, parts specialists and service advisors within the Scania service network of their respective countries.

Earlier in Singapore, five teams had commenced the competition at the workshop level with theoretical challenges in two parts. The best three teams competed at the national finals held over the weekend where they underwent two theoretical exercises and three practical challenges.

The winning team, named Gyroscope, will participate in the Scania Top Team Asia-Pacific Regional Finals in 2022-2023 in February 2023. The winner of this round will represent the region, as one of only 12 teams, in the Scania Top Team World Finals 2022-2023 in Europe, competing for a first prize of €50,000 or runner-up prizes of €30,000 and €20,000.

“The Top Team competition is one of the highlights of the employee experience of working at Scania,” said Ms Zoe Cheng, Regional Manager of Scania Singapore. “Our service personnel look forward to the ultimate challenge of their technological knowledge, skills and teamwork as they work together to drive the shift towards a sustainable transportation system.”

She added: “We look forward to inviting future generations of Top Team members to join the Scania family for exciting careers.”
