Service Technician

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventive maintenance services (PMS) on trucks, buses, and commercial vehicles.
  • Conduct diagnostics and troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic systems.
  • Inspect, repair, and replace defective components, including engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension and steering systems, air systems, and driveline components.
  • Perform engine tune-ups, overhauls, and major repairs as required.
  • Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to identify vehicle faults and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
  • Conduct pre-delivery inspections and road tests to ensure proper vehicle performance after repairs.
  • Prepare service reports, inspection checklists, and maintenance records accurately and completely.
  • Ensure proper handling and safekeeping of tools, equipment, and workshop facilities.
  • Maintain compliance with occupational health and safety standards during repair and maintenance activities.
  • Coordinate with Service Advisors and Supervisors regarding repair status, parts requirements, and technical concerns.
  • Respond to field service requirements and emergency breakdown repairs when necessary.
  • Keep up to date with new vehicle technologies, repair procedures, and manufacturer service bulletins.
  • Perform other related duties that may be assigned by management from time to time. 

Qualifications

  • At least High School Graduate, Senior High School Graduate, or graduate of any Technical/Vocational course related to Automotive, Diesel, or Mechanical Technology.
  • TESDA National Certificate (NC II) in Automotive Servicing or equivalent automotive-related certification.
  • Valid Professional Driver’s License (DL Codes A and B).
  • With at least 2–3 years of relevant work experience in servicing and repairing trucks, buses, or commercial vehicles.
  • Knowledgeable in diesel engine systems, electrical systems, brake systems, transmission systems, suspension systems, and vehicle diagnostics.
  • Proficient in the use of automotive diagnostic tools, testing equipment, and workshop tools.
  • Able to read and interpret technical manuals, service diagrams, and repair procedures.
  • Physically fit and capable of performing field and workshop repair activities.
  • Willing to work overtime, on weekends, and travel for field service assignments when required.
