Competence development

Scania is promoting a learning organization where all employees learn every day at work by improving processes and tools. Most of the learning should happen on the job - in the daily work. All managers have to establish a time for learning and follow up on the learning development of the individual.

 

Learning at the workplace should also be a major part of the individual development plan from the P&D talk. You can plan the on-the-job learning in many different ways e.g. follow/shadow a more experienced colleague, work together with a colleague or have short discussions with colleagues about how to be more efficient.

 

When it is not possible or not efficient to learn a task in the daily work, you could learn from others and from digital sources. Scania provides formal learning activities for core knowledge and skills you cannot learn elsewhere.

The Performance and Development (P&D) talk is a recurring, prepared discussion between managers and employees about individual performance, development and future career steps - the current the situation as well as the future.
