SNL IS THE FIRST CUSTOMER IN SINGAPORE TO RECEIVE A SMART & SAFE TRUCK THAT ALLOWS DRIVERS TO INDIVIDUALISE THEIR DRIVER STATION AND UTILISE SCANIA DIGITAL SERVICES
Scania Singapore today delivered the first-ever Scania Smart & Safe truck to SNL Logistics. The handover ceremony for the new truck took place this morning when Mr Lim Jing He, Director of SNL Logistics Pte Ltd, received the keys to the new truck from Mr Oscar Wyckman, Country Manager of Scania Singapore, at SNL Logistics’ office. SNL Logistics will receive another 14 new trucks over the next few months.
“With the Scania Smart & Safe Trucks, we will experience improved operational uptime, as the latest digital interface enables fast and remote diagnostics through Wi-Fi and Bluetooth servicing across Scania workshops. This allows our drivers to interact with Scania’s workshops remotely, identifying problems before visiting, allowing us to benefit from predictive maintenance that minimises downtime. The over-the-air remote software feature of the trucks also gives us the convenience of updating our vehicle software and activate new services without visiting a workshop. This ensures continuous protection of our fleet against cybersecurity threats,” said Mr Jing He.
The Scania Smart & Safe trucks showcase Scania’s commitment in harnessing smart technology to make future driving experiences smarter, safer, simpler, and more intuitive. Powered by a new premium digital dashboard and high-performance computing and communications technology, Scania Smart & Safe Trucks makes it easier than ever for drivers to interact with their vehicle and receive support—ensuring they make the right decision at the right time on the road.
In addition to the new digital interface, the Scania Smart & Safe Trucks are equipped with the new telematic unit and sensor platforms to collect vehicle data for better insights, enabling SNL Logistics to have a more data-driven approach in running their fleet. Built to meet the latest safety and cyber security regulations, these sensor platforms also enable advanced safety features such as driver attention support, vulnerable road user detections, and many more, giving SNL Logistics’ drivers greater confidence, safety and control for every journey.
