Scholarship Stories

Topptur

Caroline

Thanks to the scholarship, I got the chance to join a ski touring course in Abisko. The course gave me hands-on training in avalanche safety and route planning, along with the experience of moving up and down in varied terrain. The mix of physical challenge, stunning nature and new skills really strengthened my ability to plan and carry out safe tours on my own. It also sparked a deeper interest in avalanche knowledge and inspired me to keep learning and developing in this outdoor pursuit.

Båt

The scholarship gave me the opportunity to take both a boating license and a coastal skipper’s certificate. It turned out to be much more than just learning new skills. I gained real confidence in handling the boat, both the theory side like navigation rules and safety, and the practical side like maneuvering at higher speeds and in tougher conditions. It completely changed our boating life.
Now I can take my family further out into the archipelago and explore places we never would have dared to visit before. It has given us amazing shared experiences. The scholarship was a real push to take this step, and something I warmly recommend to others. It brought personal growth and memories that will last a lifetime.

Akvarellmålning

Magnus

Watercolor has become a creative sanctuary for me. Thanks to the scholarship, I was able to deepen my skills through courses and workshops that developed both technique and expression. Painting for me is both a challenge and a way to relax – hours disappear as I focus completely on color and form.
It has not only strengthened my passion but also led to one of my paintings being accepted into a juried exhibition and even sold there. That experience inspires me to keep exploring the world of watercolor painting.

Häst

Emma

After nearly twenty years in the saddle, the scholarship gave me the chance to try western riding for a whole term. The lessons focused on reining, the western equivalent of dressage, and gave me both technical skills and a deeper sense of connection between horse and rider. Riding has been the perfect mix of adventure, challenge and relaxation – a way to be fully present while also recharging my energy. The course gave me new skills but also reminded me of the joy horses bring to my life.
