Job Type: Full-time, Permanent. Monday - Friday 07:00-16:00, 1 in 2 Saturdays 08:00-12:00

Overview

The Workshop Manager is responsible for the smooth running of the Workshop; overseeing the Technician team, ensuring key performance indicators are achieved, whilst maintaining positive relationships with our customers.

  • Manage the workshop control operation, planning workload and resource and ensuring there is an efficient flow of authorised work, and relevant internal / customer documentation is completed correctly and in a timely manner 
  •  Strive to deliver or exceed depot key performance indicators: 
    •  MOT First time pass rate 
    • Workshop Productivity
    •  Customer Satisfaction Index 
  • Scania Dealer Operating Standards targets Financial performance of the workshop operation 
  • Lead and motivate staff 
  • Build and develop customer relationships 
  • Liaise with parts department to ensure planned work is fully catered for 
  • Obtaining correct authority for repairs to be carried out 
  • Manage workshop administration processes 
  • Ensure appropriate clocking’s are made and all job cards and service sheets are completed in a timely manner 
  • Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness 
  • Participate in and promote all Scania GB / TruckEast initiatives 
  • Any other duties relevant to the smooth and efficient operation of the department as determined by your manager

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • Technical Qualification (City & Guilds or NVQ Qualified Technician) or proven experience repairing & maintaining vehicles
  • Current driving licence
  • Autoline 8.35 use
  • Supervisory or management experience
  • LGV/HGV licence
  • Ability to work within a team
  • Excellent organisation and analytical skills    
  • Ability to work within guidelines and to deadlines
  • Solution driven approach
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills         
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Detail orientated
  • High level of computer literacy
  • Ability to work under pressure              
  • Possess excellent accuracy and numeracy skills
  • Awareness and understanding of Health and Safety requirements 
  • General knowledge of the industry
  • Management of personnel preferred
  • Computer literate
