WEST PENNINE TRUCKS DELIVER FIRST UK NEXT GEN S-SERIES TO CHRIS GOOD HAULAGE
Shrewsbury-based Chris Good Haulage was one of the first UK operators to put a Next Generation Scania on the road.
Chris Good Haulage specialise in curtainsider work from the South East of England to Scotland.
The S500 6x2 tractor unit, which started working earlier this month, was supplied by West Pennine Trucks, Oswestry on a three-year R&M contract.
Although a number of R- and S-series Scanias will be registered this month, they will remain a rarity on UK roads for at least the next six months.
Scania GB UK truck sales director Andrew Jamieson said, “the UK gets 90% of its trucks from Scania’s French and Dutch factories, yet neither of these production lines are building the new range yet.
As a result, Scania GB will be allocated 100 right-hand drive trucks a month between now and June.”
Chris Good was quick to praise his new tractor unit to West Pennine Trucks on Facebook: “I wish I could get the driver out of the seat so that I can have a go!”
Something tells us Chris could have a long wait.
