TruckEast’s 2019 Macmillan Coffee Mornings take the cake
Over £1,200 raised as baked treats go down a storm with staff and customers
The world’s biggest coffee morning returned on Friday 27th September and, as always, TruckEast staff got their whisks at the ready and embraced the opportunity to raise some money for the great cause that is Macmillan Cancer Support.
Coffee mornings took place throughout the week commencing 23rd September at our Felixstowe, Wellingborough and Stowmarket branches.
A huge variety of baked offerings were supplied by staff; from gooey brownies, to classic Victoria sponge cake and everything in between. Paul Hollywood would’ve been proud, there might even have been a few handshakes! The treats were displayed at branch receptions for the ease of staff and customers. None of the items were priced; donations were made at the discretion of the taster.
Macmillan Cancer Support's biggest fundraising event, in 2017 the UK-wide coffee morning total reached a record-breaking £29.5 million.
Thanks to the participation of our staff and customers we are delighted to share that our 2019 fundraising total stands at £1,256.36. These funds will be going directly to Macmillan where proceeds contribute to services for cancer patients and their families.
We are extremely grateful to all participants; whether you baked, bought or donated you have helped us to make a difference, and we can’t wait until next year to do it all again.
