Services expand at TruckEast Northampton amid 'decade of change and renewal' at Brackmills

Further investment at Brackmills Industrial Estate planned as part of second BID (Business Improvement District) term

Northampton’s Brackmills Industrial Estate, home to TruckEast Northampton and over 100 other companies, is in the midst of ‘a decade of change and renewal’ after securing a second term as a BID (Business Improvement District).

With an aspiration to be the premier business and logistics park in the country, Brackmills has experienced considerable investment into its facilities since becoming a BID in 2009. Businesses on the site have benefitted over the past decade from improvements to broadband, signage, leisure facilities and public transport links.

In March of this year, business voted in favour of securing a second term, and plans are already underway for what they want to achieve next; including higher standards of footpaths, verges and roads, more secure parking and extension of the existing traffic calming, to name a few.

This investment is mirrored in our Northampton branch, where  an additional set of brake rollers have been recently installed in the tachograph bay, allowing more flexibility around scheduled work and greater workshop capacity.

Investment at Northampton

“Our new brake rollers allow us to be more efficient with using workshop space available."

Robert Vasey

Depot Manager, TruckEast Northampton

Depot Manager Robert Vasey commented: “Our new brake rollers allow us to be more efficient with using workshop space available. For example if we’ve got someone in for brake tests, we have the choice and no longer need to lose the existing bay, it could instead be used for repairs and servicing. Likewise if we’ve got both a truck and trailer requiring brake tests we can carry them out simultaneously on the two sets. It really has expanded our offering and given us that extra flexibility – a benefit we can pass onto our customers.”

In addition to tachograph services and brake testing the branch offers all makes repair and maintenance, MOT preparation and presentation, a wide range of Scania and VRS parts and 24 hour breakdown assistance.
