60 seconds with Rosalind Crowe Service Receptionist, Norwich Depot
It’s that time again when we do a rapid-fire interview with a member of the TruckEast team. This month we caught up with Ros from our Norwich depot – Ros has been with the company for nearly 30 years.
1) How did you get into the industry and why?
“My husband actually worked here before I did, so it was through him really. In 1989 M&K commercials was looking for a receptionist. I hadn’t worked as a receptionist before but my husband put my name forward anyway. I went for an interview and that was it really!
“The job was much simpler back then compared to nowadays, mostly passing on calls and doing work by hand. Then in 2016, we made the change over to become TruckEast employees. It all worked out well – I’ve been here for 29 years now.”
2) What’s your favourite thing about your job?
“I love my customers; I have a really good relationship with them. In the last three years, we’ve built a really great team atmosphere here at Norwich. I’m also really looking forward to the Norfolk Show, this year will be my third one. It’s lovely to stop and have a chat with the customers, and I do seem to know everyone thanks to my job!”
3) What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
“Be happy, and try not to let things get you down.”
4) What are your hobbies?
“I love my gardening, spending time with my grandchildren. My grandson is really into motorsport so I enjoy going to watch him.”
5) Do you do any motorsport?
“No! I don’t think I’d make it out alive!”
6) Three words people would use to describe you?
“Mad, happy, noisy”
