60 Second interview with Richard Feast
We started the year by catching up with Area Sales Manager Richard Feast, he joined us last year and has been a great asset ever since. He is another member of the team that joined us with an abundance of knowledge with 16 years experience selling trucks.
Where would your dream holiday destination be?
Rarotonga, Cook Islands followed by New Zealand.
How did you get into the industry and why?
My father had his own truck so I’ve always been around trucks and had a passion for them. I left college and secured a HGV mechanic apprenticeship with Leyland Trucks in Cambridge, then progressed into an apprentice sales role. 16 years of selling later and I’m now working with TruckEast and the worlds premium truck manufacturer!
Football, rugby or motorsport?
Rugby and motorsport, I can’t split the two. Definitely not football!
What's the best advice you've ever been given?
‘Never underestimate your own ability, believe in yourself and you will succeed’ ( Thanks Dad.)
How do you see the trucking industry evolving over the next 12 months?
With the complexity of modern day vehicles, operators increasingly need to be confident they are supported by a network of fully trained, responsive dealerships to give them maximum uptime.
With the amount of specialist tooling and product knowledge essential to fulfil this requirement there is going to be more reliance on companies like TruckEast with expertise, rather than the ‘man in a van.’
If you won the lottery, what would be the first thing you would buy?
I’d pay off my mortgage, without a doubt.
Which celebrity would you most like to meet?
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
59 and hopefully with a broad Scania customer base in my area or…having won the lottery, I’ll be living in New Zealand!
