Going the extra mile for charity

This September, TruckEast Area Sales Manager Andy Ayears will join a trio of cyclists from Cawleys to push their limits in the Extra Mile challenge.

Raising an astounding £1.2 million for charities since it began 13 years ago, the exhilarating road cycle challenge takes place along the picturesque coastal region of Brittany, France. Riders will cover a staggering 500 miles along the coast over three days, all in the hope to raise money for a great cause

The team are hoping to raise £3000 for two key charities very close to their hearts. The first, Keech Hospice, is a local centre which cares for those young and old alike. The second chosen charity is CHUM’s who offer a mental health and wellbeing service for children and young people. The charity was a huge family support when a member of staff in the team taking part in the Extra Mile challenge 10 years ago sadly died of a heart attack.

We all wish the courageous team the best of luck! If you would like to support them, you can do so by visiting their Just Giving page here.
