Meet Thom Wells
Job title: Relationship Executive – Keltruck
Area served: South Wales
Thom Wells is a finance industry professional with more than 15 years experience under his belt. His move to Scania Financial Services and the role of Relationship Executive for Keltruck in South Wales, came about last September following a three year spell working in London where he specialised in passenger car finance.
"The opportunity to move into the commercial vehicle sector, and to work with two of the biggest names in the business, was simply too good to miss," says Thom. "I was looking for a new challenge, and I am delighted to have found it with Scania Financial Services and Keltruck.
"The way we work is really interesting as we engage with customers in a totally different way to the car world, which is essentially rates-driven. Now, I am involved in face-to-face customer meetings with my Keltruck colleagues where we look to tailor financial solutions specific to an operator's individual needs. Doing this involves building a detailed picture of the customer's situation and requirements and using the knowledge and understanding we gain to develop our offer accordingly. To my mind, that has to be better than an off-the-shelf finance product, and I'm sure that's something our customers would agree with too.
"The move to Scania Financial Services has also allowed me and my family to relocate to Cardiff where we previously lived, and both my wife and I feel that's going to be great for our three young children. So as I see it, joining the company has been a win-win for us. We're delighted to be back in South Wales, and I'm now very much looking forward to getting out and meeting as many customers and prospects as possible over the weeks, months and years to come."
