Kent-based L&I Coaches managing director Lawrence McGregor has a real feel-good factor from his first two new Scania Touring coaches.
Bought using Scania Financial Services (SFS) hire purchase, he says of the K360s: “I love the coaches and getting two of them has already put a few noses out of joint. I’ve even had a friend calling from the M25 saying how great they look.”
Full of praise for Scania’s Richard Laurie in handing the purchase as he renews his fleet from using a rival brand, he says: “They look the part, the body looks great, and the customers are loving them.
“Plus the Scania Financial Services package arranged by Bob Winfield and Greg is a really good deal.
“Two years’ warranty with repair and maintenance, and including recovery to the nearest Scania centre and onward transfer for the passengers, is a great package. It’s so important to have the reliability and reassurance that everything’s covered ”
That’s why he’s planning two more Scanias for the next round of fleet renewal in the next few months.
The company operating from Ashford and Thanet carries the name L&I Airport Transfers but offers a full service also including day trips, sports event group travel and excursions to a two-week holiday around Europe.
So far as the new Scanias are concerned, Lawrence says: “The schools can’t believe how cool they are as the youngsters plug in their phones to charge them on the way to Thorpe Park.”
It’s not just appreciation of a cool-looking coach but of really cool air-conditioned travelling comfort that also extends to the driver’s cab.
“It’s the only coach I’ve had that takes the driver into account. In the past I’ve had to fit cooling fans for the drivers because the air-con only starts behind them,” said Lawrence.
