HOW SCANIA FINANCE START-UP AID PUT MARCOS ON THE RIGHT TRACK

Da Silva Transport is a prime example of how it can work out, with Keanu Bertram, SFS used vehicles Area Sales Manager for the South-East and West, putting the husband-and-wife partnership of Marcos and Luisa Da Silva on a sound business footing.
Marcos had been working in the transport industry as a class 1 driver for four years when he decided to set up on his own earlier this year, based at Barking in Essex.
Starting with a visit to Purfleet used vehicle centre, he decided to purchase a Scania R440, helped by Scania South East used sales specialist Steve Wilkinson, pictured (left) with Marcos and Luisa, and Keanu and their new truck.
Keanu sat down with Marcos and Luisa and worked on a financial forecast for the year to help manage their cash flow, with a 12-month repair and maintenance package to control outgoings.
Luisa said: “Scania was our first choice and they were really helpful from start to finish.
“I was really impressed – they were on the ball and patient, with Keanu helping on the finance options and the repair and maintenance which stops us worrying about the unexpected.
“They even helped arrange the paint and signwriting, all very friendly and helping us through a steep learning curve and the books are balancing nicely for us with a daily run to Leicester.”
