Anglian Logistic Services
Paul Barnes of Peterborough-based Anglian Logistic Services is one happy customer with his trio of black Scania trucks.
All are on finance lease with Scania Finance, with full service contract and GAP and RTI insurance all sorted out in a one stop shop operation by Scania Truck East sales manager Nick Hansen.
The latest additions were a used pair of 2013 Scania R440L6x2/2MNA Topline trucks for drivers Anthony Sheils and Gareth Virgo to join Paul’s 2010 Scania that he got last August, since when he has clocked up 80,000km – some 50,000 miles.
Anglian Logistic Services mainly works on shipping containers out of Felixstowe port and they travel all over the UK, regularly travelling to Devon and Cornwall, South Wales, North Yorkshire and Scotland.
Paul, who has been transporting containers for 14 years, said: “My trucks are all on finance lease and on service contract with Scania. The main thing is to keep them roadworthy and compliant – I do all the paperwork and accounts and it is one less thing to worry about.”
And he is justifiably proud of his smart fleet, which aren’t just workhorses. The trio are distinguished by a colour highlight on the black – orange for Paul’s, red for Anthony and turquoise blue for Gareth’s.
All three weree displayed at Truckfest at the Peterborough Showground.
And they are more than clean machines – all have matching leather seats and leather floormats, and that’s just for starters, with lightbars being fitted.
Paul’s home comforts include an upgraded stereo with extra speakers and sub-woofer under the bed for his EDM music, his iPlayer, TV with DVD, microwave and fridge-freezer.
