Invoice Factoring Manager

Reporting to: Credit & Operations Director

 

Overview:

This is an evolving role, which requires an ambitious & professional attitude to succeed. Managing the Scania Invoice Factoring process, you will unite many areas of the Scania organisation. The role comes with its own challenges as we develop the processes, with the job holder expected to build & retain relationships with both internal and external customers.

 

You must be able to work alone & as part of a team, at times under pressure, to deliver the requisite information to stakeholders as necessary. You will manage your operations/team in the most effective way, striving to identify business concerns, improve processes and resolve issues in a timely manner.  

 

Experience within the commercial vehicle industry & in a similar role, is key to understanding the requirements of the Scania organisation, enabling you to support & grow elements of the wider businesses together. You will be expected to work closely and cross functionally with all associated businesses to help achieve both customer & Scania objectives.   Reporting to the Credit & Operations Director.

 
Professional Competencies:
  • To manage & lead the Invoice Factoring department, motivating, inspiring & developing team members.
  • Identify & manage the process flow of the Invoice Factoring operation. ‘Owning’ the portfolio & carrying out necessary customer communications, internally & externally.
  • Prepare monthly statements, additional invoices or credits where required.
  • Be a member of the Operational Managers support team.
  • Developing the Chassis Factoring knowledge within the Scania business & ensuring sufficient skill levels are maintained across the business to administer our processes & systems.
  • Continually evaluating & reporting departmental KPI performance.
  • Devising & implementing policies & procedures; continuously evolving workflows for maximum efficiencies.
  • Working closely with the Credit Manager & Credit Control Manager where necessary.
  • Must be able to work alone and part of team, at times under pressure, to deliver the requisite information to stakeholders as necessary. Expecting to build relationships with both internal and external customers.
  • Devising & implementing policies & procedures, continuously evolving workflows for maximum efficiencies. Identify & manage the process flow of the whole invoice financing operation.
  • Manage relationships between SGB & SFGB in all arears of the invoice financing process: to include facility limit requests where applicable & cashflow forecast planning.
  • Be responsible for the daily management of the customer factored invoices, which will include: Investigation and reconciliation of SFGB & SGB reporting.
  • Ensuring the daily reconciliations of new business & settlement reports are carried out; and ensuring the production of the daily remittances & onward approval of dealer payment files are carried out.
  • To be the key contact between the business & any third – party, reviewing & approving variations to process /agreements under guidance of the Credit & Operations Director.
  • Debt Collection process to be constructed, reviewed, and implemented if required.
  • To participate in regular meetings with SGB to give & receive updates and discuss/resolve issues as they occur.
  • Managing the relationship with the software provider, ensuring we have the most up do date software version available to us.
  • Ensuring that any appropriate documentation is in use & assisting the Credit & Operations Director in writing new documents / agreements where necessary, working with our legal advisors where necessary.
  • Given that this is a developing role,  any other duties as may reasonably be required.
 
Reporting Requirements:
  • To create & produce regular arrears debtors reports to assist the wider Scania businesses.   
 
Projects:
  • To oversee any invoice financing related projects,  providing representation,  guidance & input from a practical perspective.
  • Be the main contact for any external projects which require involvement from the invoice financing team.
 
Departmental Cover:
  • Assist any other Operations Department within the business as may reasonably be required.

  • Experience in delivery of similar activities / similar role.
  • Skilled in Data handling, analysing and reporting – demonstrating keen attention to details.
  • Proficiency in planning, developing, implementing and monitoring suitable process to manage business requirements.
  • Experience of vehicle inventory management.
  • Demonstrates understanding of customers (internal and external), their commercial offerings, industry, business, motivational drivers and needs. Understands how Scania can contribute to the optimization of customer profitability.
