Scania secures order for 1,000 tractors – EGR technology and comprehensive service decisive
Transport company Vos Logistics is going solely with Scania when the company’s fleet of 1,000 tractors is due for replacement. The strong order intake continues into the fourth quarter.
The agreement, Scania’s largest ever in the Netherlands, is based on customer-tailored financing and a repair and maintenance contract.
Most of the trucks, powered by 420 hp engines in Euro 4 configuration, will be delivered in 2007.
“Engines that meet the Euro 4 exhaust requirements with EGR technology were one of the demands of Vos Logistics. Only two manufacturers are able to offer this and the customer chose Scania ahead of MAN,” says Anders Grundströmer, Managing Director of Scania Benelux.
Vos Logistics is one of Europe’s leading transport companies and has an in-house fleet of about 3,000 vehicles. Most of them cover international routes.
“Scania’s ability to provide individually tailored service solutions throughout Europe was another decisive factor behind our choice,” says company President Wim Vos.
“The order intake is still very strong. The fourth quarter got off to an even better start than the same period last year, and that’s without even including this latest contract,” says Per-Erik Lindquist, Scania Group Vice President, Franchise and Factory Sales.
