DRIVE A SCANIA TRUCK AND WIN PRIZES AT MIBTC 2015
Kuala Lumpur, 24 April 2015 – If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to drive a powerful truck, Scania Malaysia is providing the opportunity to do so as well as win some prizes at the Malaysia International Bus, Truck & Components Expo 2015 (MIBTC).
To be held at the Mines International Exhibition and Convention Centre (MIECC) on 14 – 16 May 2015, MIBTC will feature a special edition of the Scania Driver Competition, which is open to both the general public and commercial vehicle drivers.
For the general public who are interested to know what it feels like to be behind the wheel of a Scania truck, this will be the perfect opportunity to find out. Participation is as easy as signing up at a booth just behind MIECC. A valid driving license is all that’s needed to test their skill at maneuvering a truck, under the supervision of an official Scania Driver Trainer. Winners, to be announced every two hours, will take home an exclusive Scania sport’s bag.
Commercial vehicle drivers who have already submitted their entry forms for the main Scania Driver Competition 2014/2015 Malaysia-Singapore (SDC) can have the opportunity to improve their skills at this MIBTC edition. They too will stand a chance to win some prizes.
The SDC in October offers prizes of up to RM50,000. For drivers who have yet to submit their entry forms can do so at this MIBTC edition between 14 -16 May, and receive an SDC t-shirt (while stocks last).
“Driving trucks and buses is a profession that requires a high level of professionalism and skills that is acquired through training. With proper understanding and experience, the driver will then be able to apply these skills and knowledge effectively for the safety of all road-users, increase fuel efficiency and be environmentally-friendly,” said Ian Tan, Marketing and Communications Manager, Scania Southeast Asia.
“As the single-most important asset of any truck and bus operator, the drivers play an important role in the building of the nation and we are taking this opportunity to let the public understand just what it takes to be a truck driver as well as give them a very unique experience,” added Ian.
Visitors to MIBTC 2015 can also use the Scania Lounge to rest and refresh themselves throughout the day.
