To commemorate India’s 74TH Independence Day, Scania organized and executed a virtual celebration which saw participation from employees across the country. The patriotic fervor of our team trumped the Covid induced limitations and as always, we came together to celebrate, this time remotely.

The event started with a quiz conducted by the Academy team on topics of both National and Scania relevance. This extremely engaging and interactive session was followed by the flag hoisting that was unfurled on Scania premises as everyone joining from their respective locations paid their respects by listening to the National Anthem as it played in the background.

After the flag hoisting, Petr Novotny, MD and CEO of Scania India took to the stage and delivered a riveting speech where he drew parallels between India’s rich cultural ethos and Scania’s core values. Through his words he reaffirmed his belief in the team’s capability to make a place for Scania India in the global market. He urged the team to continue building and developing a future-ready company and country.

We believe that the future of a country lies in its children and so we made the children of Scania employees a part of the celebration. In the days leading up to Independence Day, the children were invited to share works of art created by them on the theme of independence. Children from the age of 3 to 15 participated by sharing their drawings and paintings that were displayed during the celebrations. The talent, creativity and enthusiasm of the kids was greatly applauded and all participants will be honored with certificates as a token of our appreciation

As always, we came together despite the circumstances, to reiterate our commitment to the country and live up to the Scania values of determination and team spirit.
