The great local player: Angers SCO

Angers Sporting Club de l’Ouest (Angers SCO) is a French football club located in Angers, around 300 kilometres southwest of Paris. The club has a long history in the city of Angers, such as Scania, and was founded in 1919. After many years of playing in the lower divisions of French football, a recent turning point came for the team resulting in a place in Ligue 1, the highest division of French football.

Scania’s sponsorship of Angers SCO includes Scania brand exposure on the team’s match jerseys for all matches played at the home pitch Raymond Kopa stadium. Scania trucks are displayed at the corners of the football pitch during important home matches, and there are a number of match tickets available for employees and customers.

  • Angers SCO players participate with Scania on selected occasions, such as book signings during multiple trucker events.
  • The official coach is a customised Irizar I6 VIP coach which transports the players to different locations around France.
  • A number of Scania clients have received permission to fully customise their trucks with Angers SCO team colours and emblems.

Beside the sponsoring of the football club, Scania has also recently become a partner of the SCO Foundation, the Angers SCO foundation dedicated to community development and social responsibility. The Foundation is active in 3 main areas; health, employment, and community engagement.
