Press kit: Scania at ConExpo

At the ConExpo trade show in Las Vegas, Scania will showcase its range of reliable, fuel-efficient engines adhering to US Tier 4 final and European Stage V emission legislations, as well as its strong service offering.

“We’re proud to showcase our broad portfolio of low-emission, fuel-efficient solutions for a multitude of applications,” says Mikael Lindner, President, Scania USA. “We’re just as proud about our growing and continuously trained service network that helps to increase our customers’ profitability.”

Visitors to Scania’s stand will be the first to experience the most recent addition to Scania’s broad power generation range – the 9-litre 5-cylinder US Tier 4 final compliant solution. The solution uses Scania’s aftertreatment system with exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) and selective catalytic reduction (SCR), without the need for a diesel particulate filter (DPF).

The exhibits on show also include the tried and tested 13-litre 6-cylinder inline and the 16.4-litre V8 engine. All of these comply with the strictest emission legislations, including US Tier 4 final and European Stage V. Scania introduced its first Tier 4 final compliant solutions in 2012 and has continuously updated them since then. The first Stage V compliant solutions from Scania were presented already in April 2016 – well in advance of 2019 when the legislation comes into force.

Smart support at hand

Visitors will also be able to learn about Scania’s approach to aftermarket service, which includes continuous and extensive training programs for service technicians, 24/7/365 support through the Scania Assistance service that help businesses maintain high uptime and productivity.

Scania’s products are all part of a modular system that provides tried and tested parts which are built in large series, drawing on the company’s experience in industrial and marine applications as well as from the truck and bus industries. All products share components, parts and service, thus ensuring high availability and access to fast and reliable service from close to 2,000 Scania service points worldwide, of which approximately 300 are strategically located in North America.

Scania engines are used in power generation applications and in industrial applications, such as stone crushing, excavating, front loading and stacking. The engines feature engine management and emission control systems developed by Scania’s in-house engineers. The engine management systems are optimized for each application, resulting in outstanding performance and excellent fuel efficiency.
