The Scania Global Champion Trainee Program provides a unique start to your career and every opportunity to develop into a leader in our global organisation. You will fast receive a broad network and a holistic view of Scania as well as the Volkswagen Truck & Bus organisation.
You will be employed from day one and immediately set about immersing yourself in Scania’s company culture. You will gain an in-depth understanding of Volkswagen Truck & Bus GmbH (VWTB) and this will provide you with an essential foundation knowledge on which to build. The program begins with a comprehensive introduction and subsequently alternates between practical work and theory, giving you the chance to gain useful contacts and develop a broad level of competence. Vital skills such as leadership and change management will also form part of your training.
Contents and structure
The program takes place over 15 months with a possible additional 3 month module within VWTB for selected trainees. During your introduction period you will receive lectures from managers within Scania, participate in study visits, receive leadership training, appreciate driving theory for trucks and assembly practice. You will also take part in a common onboarding together with trainees from other brands within VWTB. The program continues with a number of practice periods, two of them abroad, and common activities together with the other trainees.

Scania Global Champion Trainee Program has a number of different specialisations, which reflect Scania’s different areas of operation.
You can choose your area of interest on the application form. Please note that if you are interested in production and logistics you can apply for a graduate trainee position in Södertälje or Oskarshamn. Read more about the different work areas below:

Scania Global Champion Trainee Program is aimed at holders of Master of Science degrees in Engineering, Information systems, Business and Economics or Human resources who have just finished their studies or have a maximum of one year’s work experience. You should be prepared to take on personal challenges and develop within a learning organisation. The program prepares you for work within an international environment. For this reason, good language skills are a prerequisite.
As part of the selection process, we look at a combination of your experiences, interests, personal characteristics, and formal education/qualifications. As part of the process we also use web based tests. During the programme your base will be in Sweden. Experience of having studied or worked in Sweden is an advantage.

Scania Global Champion Trainee Program is open for applications for all EU citizens with a Master’s degree that has been verified by the Swedish Council for Higher Education.
Regarding applications from non EU citizens to the Global Champion Trainee Program the applicant will need to have a verification from the Swedish Council for Higher Education, which is possible to get if the applicant has a Swedish residence permit, LMA card, and is a student in a Master programme in Sweden.
If you have a master’s degree from a university outside of Sweden, please contact the Swedish Council for Higher Education www.uhr.se to have your degree verified. Please note that this can take up to five to nine months.
