My name is Fredrik Andersson and I am 25 years old, I just recently began my journey at Scania as a Trainee within the Global Champion Trainee Program focusing on Production and Logistics. You will from now on be able to follow my life as a trainee within Scania. But first, I would like to tell you how I ended up here in.
I am originally from a small town called Orsa in the middle of Sweden where I spent most of my time playing football, going cross-country skiing and driving snow mobile, and this of course I still do today as soon as I get the opportunity. When I was about 13 years old, my father got a position in China witch meant I ended up spending a lot of time there. Perhaps I didn’t know it at that time, but the impressions I got from his time in China formed what I saw as my dream job. Work within a large company with an international footprint, have the opportunity to try on new things, work abroad and get to know people from all over the world. So from that time forward, every decision I made have in some way brought me closer to this image of the work environment I got to see in China.
I choose without doubt to study nature science in high-school because that is what you do if you want to go on to engineering school afterwards. I found and Engineering program with an international focus, so I ended up in Linköping studying Industrial Engineering combined with Chinese and mastering in Logistics. As time went by in Linköping, I understood that a trainee program is the best opportunity within these global companies. So I applied to Scania and got accepted.
So here I am today, a trainee within Scania commuting from Stockholm each morning and couldn’t be more pleased with the situation than I am. I don’t know where these 15-months long trainee program will bring me but I hope I can inspire someone to apply to the trainee program and become my colleague in the future.
