Scania participates in competitive testing at Sweden’s Mantorp racetrack.
Scania recently took part in the prestigious Coach of the Year 2018 competition, when the Interlink HD lined up against six other manufacturers in the Coach Euro Test.
The tests took place at a rain-soaked Mantorp racetrack in Sweden in early September. The judges, made up of members of the European transport media and the haulage industry, had the chance to take the Interlink for a drive and experience a journey as a passenger. They also heard a presentation from Karin Rådström, Scania’s Senior Vice-President, Head of Buses and Coaches, and took the opportunity to quiz Rådströmand her team about myriad aspects of the coach’s specifications, including fuel consumption, passenger comfort and storage space.
The winning coach will be revealed at Busworld Europe
For Rådström, being part of the Coach of the Year competition is as important to Scania as actually winning it. The event’s prestige in the industry provides a boost to the profile of the company’s coach-building operation, and it also gives Scania the possibility of measuring our vehicle against key market competitors. In her presentation, Rådström took the chance to highlight the coach’s sustainability.
The winning coach will be revealed at Busworld Europe, which takes place in Kortrijk, Belgium, from October 20-25.
