Release Manager- engineer with managerial skills

The Engine System Software Group is responsible for complete engine management systems. This includes the co-ordination of many groups’ software development and calibration software to adapt it to different engine types. We are faced with exciting challenges to deliver our control system to more companies in the Group. This means, among other things, putting together common processes and tools as well as coordinating deliveries in Sweden, Germany and the United States.

Your role

As a Release Manager, you will act as a part-project leader across several parallel engine projects, focusing on coordinating calibration.

The role gives you a very good foundation for continuing your career as a developer or leader through an unusually wide network of contacts throughout the engine development organization in the form of developers, calibrators, managers, test leaders, production coordinators, aftermarket, and more. You also get a good insight into both hardware and software in the various engine projects and overall knowledge of several parts of the product. The job is a good kick-start for your career at Scania!

Your work assignments

Close together with other high performing Release managers on the group, work with calibration coordination, calibration data set and release management of complete engine control systems. Ie:

  • coordinate the project’s calibration work as a calibration coordinator
  • identify and manage deviations with project management and managers
  • deliver complete software including data set for verification and production
  • enhance mechanisms and tools for variant management of calibration data sets
  • further develop and quality assure processes for calibration
  • coordinate many different subprojects for a well-balanced flow of releases in production and aftermarket

Your profile

We think you have Master of science in embedded systems/business management or similar. You have good communication skills, are self-propelled, structured and have high capacity combined with good leadership skills.

Experience in managing projects, knowledge of the Jira issue management tool and / or good knowledge within Lean is a benefit.

You speak and read english very good and swedish on a basic level.
