Scania’s millionth vehicle rolls off the assembly line in Zwolle, the Netherlands. Eleven factories in five countries have been involved in the manufacture of the truck – a Scania P124 6×4 360 tractor unit. The vehicle is donated to the International Red Cross and is to perform humanitarian services for the organisation for many years to come. While it has taken 96 years for Scania to build its first 500,000 vehicles, it takes only 13 years to turn out the second half million. The Red Cross truck now belongs to the collections of the Scania museum in Södertälje, Sweden.
