Scania is at your Service

Hands up if you like keeping track of your trucks’ servicing scheduling. Didn’t think so. Scania has a variety of solutions for keeping your trucks in peak condition, from Repair and Maintenance programmes to the fully automated Maintenance with Flexible Plans, and even Fleet care, where Scania effectively runs your fleet for you. NSW-based Multiquip has an R&M contract with Scania with some of the trucks serviced by City Truck Repairs in Griffith, who get a perfect score from Multiquip’s Group GM Jason Mikosic.

Multiquip is a long-time Scania customer, having purchased more than 60 prime movers in recent years, as the business has expanded. The company had an early test drive of the NTG Scanias in 2018.

Multiquip’s Group General Manager, Jason Mikosic said after the evaluation drive period, his drivers couldn’t wait to get their hands on their own example of the NTG.

“We evaluated the new R 620 V8 at 72-tonnes GVM in road-train spec, and the fuel savings were significant over the previous generation truck. We loved the way it drove and we couldn’t wait to add the new model to our fleet.”

“We have had a good run with the Scania trucks on the fleet,” Jason confirmed.

“They have been reliable and it has been a good experience. We have traded out of some of the early ones and replaced them with new ones.

“We use them all across our business, including running A-doubles from our own quarry in Goulbourn all the way into Sydney, running at around 74.5 tonnes GVM, six days per week.

“Our drivers like the comfort and quietness of the Scania cabs. The trucks are a good overall package and good value for money,” Jason said.

“They are fit for purpose and reasonable on fuel. We’re looking to see even better fuel from our own NTG V8s now they are arriving.

“In addition to A-doubles, we have Scanias running B-double and road-train work everywhere from Griffith and Tamworth into Sydney,” he said.

“For servicing we use the Scania dealer (City Truck Repairs) in Griffith who is excellent. The team there is very competent. Those trucks are running on the Scania Repair and Maintenance programme so I don’t have to worry about them,” Jason said.

Supporting customers such as Multiquip, Scania’s Prestons workshop runs a night shift for all types of service and repairs.
