Standing tall and proud on its own white display pad, and accompanied by a ground-level split-cab display unit sourced from Sweden, the new S 500 was centre of attention with potential customers from fleets to owner drivers keen to see the new truck for themselves.
The Scania stand also featured a trio of current range PGR trucks finished in sparkling silver, with an R 730 6x4, G 480 6x4 and P 310 8x2 rigid with GTB Curtainsider body just as popular with show-goers.
Scania uniquely gave over a third of its floor space to promote its many services from Truck Rental and Finance to Service Agreements, Flexible Maintenance and Driver Services.
During the Media Walk-Around, Managing Director Roger McCarthy made a short presentation outlining the styling, technical and operational advances featured in the new S 500, as well as touching on the continuing success of the PGR range and the Total Transport Solutions concept that has given Scania access to a growing family of customers in recent years.
Once the doors were opened to the public at mid-day, a larger than usual crowd poured in, keeping Scania staff on the stand busy throughout the afternoon, explaining the innovations in product and services.
The show runs until Sunday evening, May 28th.
