Christian Levin appointed Head of Sales and Marketing at Scania

Christian Levin will take up a new position as Scania’s Head of Sales and Marketing on 1 January 2016. He has been a member of Scania’s Executive Board since 2010 and has extensive experience from the company’s international market organisation.

Christian Levin, 48, joined Scania in 1994 after obtaining a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm and an MBA in Economics and Business Administration from Stockholm University. Since 1996, he has held a number of management positions in Scania’s market organisation including Managing Director of Scania’s operations in Switzerland and Italy. In 2010, he was appointed Executive Vice President, Commercial Operations with responsibility for operational activities at Scania’s global sales and service companies.

“I am looking forward to the task. Our strategy is to deliver solutions – products and services – that drive profitability for our customers and for Scania. Our success is based on a professional sales and service organisation that supplies the right vehicles and the right services for each customer’s unique needs in various segments and applications,” Christian Levin says.

Mr Levin will be responsible for Scania’s sales of trucks and buses, as well as industrial and marine engines and parts. His role also includes main responsibility for the development of services made possible through connected vehicles that improve the efficiency of transport work and increase customer profitability.

“Our connected vehicles together with the market’s broadest range of trucks and buses for alternative fuels are important parts of our strategy to become leader in sustainable transport,” concludes Levin.

Levin succeeds Henrik Henriksson, who will take over as President and CEO of Scania on 1 January 2016.
