Scania signs service agreement with WABCO.

Agency agreement signed to further extend Scania’s Total Transport Solutions customer service concept.

Scania Australia has been appointed as an approved agent for WABCO compressed air, braking and suspension systems and their associated electronic controls.

Scania branches around Australia will be able to provide service, repair, warranty and maintenance services for trailer sets equipped with WABCO components.

Scania will stock parts as well as offer servicing in its workshops for customers with WABCO components on their trailers. Many Scania trucks are fitted with WABCO components meaning Scania workshop technicians are therefore already familiar with many WABCO technologies, but will be undergoing additional training to be accredited to work on the trailer components.

“The announcement of Scania Australia as an approved agent for WABCO is a logical extension of our Scania Total Transport Solutions concept,” says Roger McCarthy, Managing Director of Scania Australia.

“We now have even more to offer our customers as a one-stop solution for all their transport needs, particularly customers operating a mixed fleet. They can be confident Scania can look after their prime movers and their trailer sets, with a very high degree of competence and experience.

“We are very happy to form this arrangement with WABCO, as we consider them a premium quality supplier and leader in braking and suspension technologies,” Roger says.

By the end of 2011, all Scania capital city factory-owned branches will have installed brake testers and shakers to augment their workshop expertise, able to provide brake-testing services that are compliant with certification for Australian Standards.
