The Scania stand at the Brisbane Truck Show is the must-see destination for all lovers of powerful trucks.

Scania is displaying the very first example in Australia of the World’s Most Powerful Truck; the Scania R 730. This V8-powered 16.4-litre truck engine produces 730 hp and 3500 Nm of torque at just 1,000 rpm.

Not only is it very powerful, but it is very clean too, complying with the Euro 5 Plus EEV (Enhanced-Environmentally Friendly Vehicle) standard.

The bright red R 730 will be hard to miss with its new style black and chrome radiator grilles.

Inside there are plush leather seats and the spacious and luxurious Highline Cab boasts the widest bed in a truck, for complete comfort.

Scania has two further vehicles on its stand, one of which is a six-cylinder, 13.0-litre powered G 440 Prime Mover, which features the latest generation XPI extra-high pressure injection system, and uses EGR to comply with Euro 5.

The G 440 boasts Scania’s latest Fully-Automated Opticruise gearchange system. It will wear the livery of Scania Truck Rental, a growing part of the company’s business in Australia.

One of the most high profile customers for Scania Truck Rental is Dick Johnson’s Jim Beam Racing, and the team’s two V8 Supercars drivers will be on the Scania stand on Saturday May 7th between 12.00 and 1.00pm, to sign autographs.

Also on the Scania stand is a P 320 8x2 rigid truck fitted with a Schmitz Cargobull refrigerated box that will have a surprise inside.

One of the latest generation Scania XPI extra high-pressure injection technology six-cylinder engines will also be on display, showing how Scania uses EGR to achieve compliance with Euro 5 emissions standards.

Scania will announce significant service agency agreements with Schmitz Cargobull, WABCO and SAF-HOLLAND at the show.

Business owners who want to cut their running costs can learn about the innovative and successful Scania Fleet Management System, which will be demonstrated on the Scania stand, while for fashion-conscious truck fans, the Scania Merchandise booth will have a large array of V8-themed Truck Gear on offer, to celebrate the arrival of the R 730 V8 into Australia.

And the Scania Driver Training Officer, Alan McDonald, will also be on hand to discuss how optimising driver efficiency can send a positive result straight to the bottom line of any transport operator.

And don’t forget the Scania Show Bag with a host of goodies inside.
