  Scania Outstanding operating economy

Stopping for service can stop your business. So getting more mileage from your trucks – by increasing uptime and availability – will help lower your costs and increase your profits.

Our modular design means fewer components, which cuts the number of potential fault sources and thus also reduces standstill times - both for emergency repairs and for scheduled service. Service intervals are long without jeopardising safety. And Scania's service offerings mean that you can obtain service quickly. By signing a service agreement, you'll even know the cost per kilometre in advance.  When repairs are necessary, components are engineered to be diagnosed and repaired quickly, using the Scania Diagnos trouble-shooting system. Any error codes are stored in the truck's computer memory. The system even identifies the defective component and indicates its location.

Scania trucks are built to grow your business, not to slow your business.

Look beyond the price tag - Uptime and availability

The costs of immobilisation are greater than you think: for every day your truck isn't rolling, you won't recover your fixed costs - nor make any profits.

Suppose you expect a 10% profit from the truck running 280 days a year. If you lose just one day a month to unexpected standstills or repairs, you'll miss about 20% of your annual profit from a truck, unless you can compensate for it by increasing your turnover or by raising the prices you charge your customers.

If you increase the annual distance driven by a truck from 150,000 km to 180,000 km, then your fixed costs per km are reduced by 10 to 15%.
