The driver is the single most important asset for economy, environment and safety. That’s why we created the driver competitions.
Scania has arranged the world's largest driver competition in 2003, 2005 and 2007, with the endorsement of the European Commission.
The competitions encompass both theoretical and practical tests, including such elements as precision manoeuvring.
The most important player
The driver is by far the most important player in the transport operation. A skilled and well-trained driver has a greater chance of avoiding accidents and thus saving lives, at the same time as less fuel is consumed and maintenance costs for the haulage company are reduced. A good driving style also contributes to more uniform flow of traffic, and thus also a reduction in global fuel consumption and emissions.
