Scania’s environmental work is designed to be preventive and aims at making resource utilisation more efficient. Our processes should use the best available technology and apply the precautionary principle. Scania is a learning organisation that applies the lessons of deviations in its continuous improvement efforts.
In its production network, Scania deals with such issues as consumption of raw materials, chemicals, energy and water, discharges to water and soil as well as atmospheric emissions, goods shipments and waste generation. One important task is preventive work to avoid accidents and abnormal operation.
Scania’s global environmental work is evaluated within the framework of the Scania Blue Rating Environment system, a standardised method for verifying and improving the application of the environmental principle in industrial operations.
