Suppliers

Suppliers are part of Scania’s process and our values are thus reflected in the standards we impose on suppliers. Sustainable performance is a prioritised indicator.

Scania's procurement policy requires that suppliers meet high quality standards, have a certified environmental management system in place and live up to the OECD guidelines for multinational enterprises with regard to employee health, safety, compensation and working conditions, irrespective of where they are located in the world.

Scania pursues a close dialogue with its suppliers to monitor compliance with these requirements. This includes evaluating the work of these suppliers, but also providing training and advice.

Suppliers’ environmental efforts are monitored using the requirements in ISO 14001 and the environmental evaluation plan – the Environmental Self Assessment.

The monitoring process and constant follow-up promote a climate of steady improvement at the same time as our specialists can forge links and create networks with suppliers. Scania thus helps enhance the proficiency and increase the environmental awareness of its suppliers.
