For applications where several people travel with a vehicle, Scania produces two spacious crew cabs. Both versions have four doors, each opening a full 90° for easy, fast access. Accommodation is for up to five or up to eight passengers.
Also available is a low-mounted, designed principally for refuse vehicles.
The front end of the cab is identical to a P day cab, with conventional seats for a driver and one passenger. All other occupants enter the cab via the rear doors, and sit on a bench seat. The eight-seater cab has two benches.
Both Scania CrewCabs have the strength and versatility to be used as the basis for high-speed emergency vehicles, where safe accommodation for a fire or rescue crew is a major consideration. For such applications, powertrains can be specified that extend to 420 hp, offering a power-to-weight ratio that far exceeds normal haulage requirements. For less dramatic road-going performance, engine options start at 230 hp. This cab can also be specified on all-wheel-drive chassis.
Vehicles supplied with these specialised cabs have powertrain and chassis specifications that match the quality of all other Scania trucks.
