“This sale is part of our drive to secure replacement operations for Falun as axle manufacture is transferred to Södertälje,” says Scania’s site manager in Falun, Anders Williamsson.
Scania’s sale of its property has taken place in close cooperation with Falun Council.
“With Möller & Partners, we have found a property owner that will work actively to find new tenants and create new job opportunities,” says the council’s Commerce and Industry Director, Hans Ahlin.
For Möller & Partners, the contract is entirely in line with the company’s development plans.
“The acquisition of Scania’s property in Falun gives us the opportunity to expand our operations in an area where we see good growth and where we are already well-established with an existing property portfolio,” says President and CEO Peter Möller
Once sale of the property has been completed, Scania and the council will continue to work together to find more companies wanting to take over other parts of the Falun production facility.
“Negotiations are continuing with the two machine-processing companies with which we signed letters of intent,” says Anders Williamsson. “Our discussions are now dealing in detail with the preconditions for a full take-over.”
These companies, which will also be signed on as tenants of Möller & Partners, are initially expected to provide jobs for about 150 people.
