Scania at UITP 2005UITP sees the launch of a new range of 9-litre Euro 4 engines with Scania EGR. This will enable public transport operators to comply with ever-stricter emission regulations without the complexity of aftertreatment with additives. The UITP world congress and exhibition for public transport, this time held in Rome 6-9 June, is targeted at decision-makers and public transport operators.

2005-06-06   Scania at the UITP in Rome: Scania introduces bus engines with EGR – consistent environmental performance guaranteed
Scania enables public transport operators to comply with ever-stricter emission regulations without the complexity of aftertreatment with additives. Scania's Euro 4 and Euro 5 bus engines use EGR, exhaust gas recirculation, which is effective in all conditions and guarantees consistent environmental performance. Patented Scania solutions give excellent operating economy and maximum convenience for drivers and operators. Deliveries will build up gradually from November 2005.

2005-06-06   Scania's Head of R&D at UITP: Robust technology for sustainable transport
“Existing engine technology combined with a controlled gradual shift to biofuels and increased use of robust hybrid systems will lead the way into a sustainable and affordable public transport system,” said Scania's Hasse Johansson at the opening session of the UITP world congress in Rome, recommending the way forward for urban bus transport in the next 15-20 years.
