Co-ordinated bus business opens new opportunities
“The restructuring of our bus and coach operations has turned out very well. Broad launch of Scania’s new buses and coaches, focus on alternative fuels
“Even today, bus service can be provided cost-effectively with renewable fuel, with reliability as high as for diesel buses. The smoothest path to sustainable development is to invest in fuels that can be used with today’s engine technology and distribution infrastructure. Ethanol is such a fuel,” said Hasse Johansson, Scania’s Head of Research and Development, as the company today began the broad launch of its new bus and coach range.

“Our long-term target is annual sales of 10,000 buses and coaches. We will achieve this by broadening our assortment of products and services and by growing in existing markets, but also by investing in new markets,” said Hans Hansson, Senior Vice President Buses and Coaches, at today’s presentation of Scania’s new bus and coach range.
