Young European Truck Driver 2003 European final He was named the winner: Michele Sandri from Italy. Well prepared and highly skilled drivers from 20 European countries gathered in Södertälje to compete for the prestigious award of Young European Truck Driver 2003.
The movie from 20 September is now available. It is five minutes long - the first part is from some of the national competitions, and the second half shows the final and the winner.

Italian victory in Scania’s competition for young truck drivers
27-year-old Michele Sandri from Trento in northern Italy is Europe’s best young truck driver. He won the final of Scania’s road safety competition Young European Truck Driver on Saturday in Södertälje, Sweden. Second was Laurens D’Huyvetter from Belgium. Mika Venäläinen from Finland finished third. The competition has attracted a total of 6,000 contestants.

They will be back…
Two years after the Young European Truck Driver competition was launched at Scania’s road safety conference in Brussels in November 2001, Italian Michele Sandri, soaked in light champagne, could lift the first prize as a proof that he is the best. But all 20 finalists were winners, outstanding in each of the 20 participating countries and all role models for professional drivers throughout the continent.
